Military Rate
Active-duty service members, veterans and military retirees pay 8% of rent charged each month. The leasing fee is 50% of one month's rent for every owner. On a Castroville home renting for $1,650, the military rate is $132 a month.
Who Rents in Castroville
Castroville is about 25 minutes west of downtown San Antonio on US-90, which puts JBSA-Lackland on the west side of the city within reach. Renters choose Castroville for a historic small town with the city a short drive east. Because the market is small, pricing matters even more. A Castroville rental analysis shows what your home should bring.
From a Distance
Owner draws arrive by direct deposit with a monthly statement. Repairs up to $250 are handled without a call across time zones, and larger repairs come to you first. The home is inspected with photos every six months, which matters on an older home you cannot drop by to see. Before you leave, switch to a landlord insurance policy and ask your lender any questions about renting a home bought with a VA loan.
